Ruth E. Stenzel
Ruth E. Stenzel, age 88 of Sauk Centre died peacefully Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2015, at the CentraCare Nursing Home in Sauk Centre.
A funeral service was held on Saturday, Dec. 19, at First Lutheran Church in Sauk Centre with Rev. Mike Carlson officiating. Interment was at Greenwood Cemetery in Sauk Centre.
Ruth Ellen Lueck was born Feb. 10, 1927, at the hospital in Glencoe to Fred and Kunda (Butterfuss) Lueck. She grew up in Norwood and graduated from Central Young America High School. Ruth worked for more than 30 years at Snyder Drug Store restaurants, where she was the manager. On Oct. 29, 2007, Ruth married Donald Kendle at the First Lutheran Church in Sauk Centre with Pastor Becky officiating. Among many hobbies Ruth especially enjoyed baking pies; her favorites were lemon and apple. She also enjoyed quilting with friends and making prayer pillows for children of the church. You could count on Ruth for grilled cheese during Lent season and her famous potato salad during the church rummage sale.
Ruth was a member at the First Lutheran Church of Sauk Centre.
Survivors include her husband, Donald Kendle of Sauk Centre; children, Sandy (Cary) Mihalow of Andover, Lori (Wayne) Dalida of Brooklyn Center, Mark Stenzel of Otsego, David (Chris) Kendle of Baudette, Valerie Kendle of Sun City, Ariz., Laura (Seth) Putz of Baudette, Larry Kendle of Rockford, Mary (Scott) Johnson of Warroad; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Myrtle Lueck of Norwood; and many nieces and nephews.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents Fred and Kunda; and her three brothers and three sisters.
Casketbearers included: Patrick Stark, Darin Dalida, David Kappel, Rick Kendle, Tyler Kendle and Paul Kendle.
Arrangements were made with Patton-Schad Funeral & Cremation Services of Sauk Centre.
